As new OEMs set up shop in Mexico, the local supply chain keeps expanding to satisfy growing needs. Foreign investment continues to arrive but there is a pressing need to develop the national supply chain so Mexican companies can participate in the US$81.8 billion auto parts market. Integration is key in this process between international and domestic companies.

The Supply Chain chapter offers insight into both direct and indirect suppliers within the automotive production chain. Challenges are also discussed, particularly regarding the country’s deficiencies in terms of raw material production and advanced-process integration.
