State of the Industry

The automotive industry remains a pillar for the Mexican economy although it faces an imminent challenge. The country maintains its position as the 7 th main light vehicle manufacturer and 4 th exporter globally with strong chances of climbing up the ranks. The industry represents 3.2% of national GDP and with the arrival of KIA and Audi, Mexico might officially replace Canada as the main exporter to the US by the end of the year. However, with the appointment of Donald Trump as the new President of the US companies are revaluating their plans for Mexico, affecting its domestic and international relations.

State of the Industry offers clear perspectives on the current challenges and opportunities the country is facing, especially regarding the supply chain and the evolution of the domestic market.
